Establishing a choir, particularly for classical group singing, is not a widespread practice in our society. Despite the fact that the first choir in Iran was formed over seventy years ago, there is a scarcity of professional choirs in Tehran and other Iranian cities. Istgah orchestra has always been keen on making an impact and performing in the classical and choral genres. In spite of numerous obstacles, Istgah orchestra managed to lay the foundation for its 45-member choir in 2016. Thanks to the hard work and good fortune of the Iranian artistic community, Istgah’s choir has been able to thrive, hold successful concerts, and establish itself as a vibrant and active group.
