The Nostalgia Concert

In 2015 and 2016, Istgah’s orchestra staged memorable performances in the Vahdat Hall with the live accompaniment of master Nasser Cheshm Azar. As one of the most prominent composers of contemporary Iranian music, Professor Nasser Cheshm Azar will remain forever in the history of Iranian music with his brilliant career. The creator of lasting songs among Iranians, with the utmost precision and elegance in performing the parts, left memorable nights for the audience.

Istgah’s orchestra, in collaboration with Professor Cheshm Azar, staged several concerts under the title of Nostalgia Concert, which was accompanied by a group of musicians and a choir. The number of artists on stage in these performances reached 90 people, which was among the most important and valuable projects of Istgah’s orchestra. Guest singers were present in these concerts, including Ashkan Khatibi and Mehdi Yaghmai.

Nasser Cheshm Azar’s pieces have met with a unique reception from the audience every time and are a lasting name in the memory of the people of this land. This concert series is a review of all the master’s memories and pieces and is a journey into the heart of musical history. The creator of Baran Eshgh had a double sensitivity for this project and used the utmost precision and delicacy for the correct execution of all parts. At the beginning of his acquaintance with the big orchestra of Istgah, he felt satisfied with the quality level and ability of this orchestra, and in cooperation with Istgah, they staged several memorable concerts.

The performance series, “Nostalgic Concert” was well received by the people and became one of the most magnificent concerts in the history of Iranian music. Istgah‘s orchestra continued to cooperate with the memory of Cheshm Azar in the series of nostalgic concerts until the end of 2016 and took an important step in its career.
