In 2016 and 2017, the Istgah Orchestra, in collaboration with the late Maestro Nasser Cheshmazar, delivered unforgettable performances at Vahdat Hall. Maestro Cheshmazar, one of the most prominent composers in contemporary Iranian music, left an enduring legacy that will forever be remembered in the history of Iranian music. The creator of timeless melodies among Iranians, he meticulously and delicately performed his pieces, creating unforgettable nights for the audience.
The Istgah Orchestra, in collaboration with Maestro Cheshmazar, staged several concerts titled “Nostalgic Concert,” accompanied by a group of musicians and a choir. The number of artists on stage in these performances reached 90, making it one of the most important and valuable projects of the Istgah Orchestra. Guest singers, including Ashkan Khatibi and Mehdi Yagmaei, performed in these concerts.
Nasser Cheshmazar’s pieces were always met with overwhelming enthusiasm from the audience, leaving an enduring mark on the memories of the people of this land. This series of concerts was a retrospective of all the Maestro’s memories and pieces, a journey into the heart of musical history. The creator of “Baran-e Eshq” (Rain of Love) was particularly sensitive about this project and took great care to ensure the correct performance of all the pieces. Upon first meeting the Istgah musical, he was satisfied with the orchestra’s quality and capabilities, and in collaboration with Istgah, he staged several memorable concerts.
The “Nostalgic Concert” series was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from the public and became one of the most magnificent concerts in the history of Iranian music. The Istgah Orchestra, in collaboration with the late Maestro Cheshmazar, continued the series of nostalgic concerts until the end of 2016 (during his lifetime), taking a significant step in its repertoire.
