Mary Poppins Musical Theater

The Istgah Orchestra, under the guidance of conductor Manouchher Sohbai, embarked on a significant venture in the theater industry with the formation of the musical show “Mary Poppins” in 1998. This marked a major progression from their previous work, “Bride of the Dead”.

“Mary Poppins”, a musical and fantasy film, was produced by Walt Disney in 1964. The film, which is based on the Mary Poppins book series, was filmed at Walt Disney Studios in California and earned $44 million during its initial release.

The Istgah Orchestra’s involvement in this ambitious and successful endeavor drew praise from critics for its precision and organization. Furthermore, their contribution to the creation and production of the Mary Poppins musical theater broadened the Istgah ensemble’s objectives, indicating a future filled with more diverse and independent theatrical experiences.
