Istgah Musical Theatre Audition – Where Voices Come to Life on Stage

Sometimes a voice alone can transform the air. Sometimes a simple presence can tell a story without uttering a word.

In the world of musical theater, voice, movement, and gaze form a singular narrative. What happens in this unique artistic frame is not just a performance With this vision, Istgah Orchestra is holding a special audition to discover and invite artists who seek to be part of this world. For years, Istgah has stood at the intersection of music, theater, and performance—through productions such as The Corpse Bride, Mary Poppins, Hashnameh, and conceptual collaborations with international institutions, the orchestra has created spaces beyond conventional performances.

In this phase, a panel of esteemed judges—each with a distinct artistic lens—gave meaning to the selection:

🎼 Mahdi Norouzi – Founder of Istgah Orchestra, visionary director of international projects, and a key figure in cultural diplomacy

🎬 Nazanin Bayati: Acclaimed actress of Iranian cinema, winner of the Fajr Film Festival Honorary Diploma, and a symbol of the new generation

🎼 Majid Salari: Singer and instrumentalist with deep roots in southern Iranian music traditions

🎹 Behrang Abbaspour: Renowned composer and arranger with a distinct presence in orchestral and theatrical productions

Now, a new project is underway—one that seeks not predictable voices but rare moments; when a singer expresses not only through vocal cords but with body, eyes, and presence. Where an actor, within a musical piece, can reveal a story without explaining it. This is a space for those who live on stage, not merely perform.

📅 The second audition will take place on Friday, May 10th.
